Teen & Adult Sessions
Maybe you studied Spanish in school. Maybe you've been using an app for months.
Maybe you understand quite a bit when someone speaks to you, but when it's your
turn to answer, your mind goes blank. Verbalee Teen & Adult Sessions are designed
to bridge that gap between knowing a language and actually being able to use it.
Our Teen & Adult programs are offered as 12-week sessions designed
to give you consistent, meaningful exposure to the language. Rather than attending
a traditional class once a week to memorize vocabulary and grammar rules, you'll
spend those 12 weeks actually communicating. You'll listen, respond, ask questions,
participate in activities, solve problems, tell stories, laugh, make mistakes and
gradually become more comfortable expressing yourself in another language.
Learn through real experiences
At Verbalee, we believe languages are learned through experiences, not just lessons.
One week you might find yourself in a café-style conversation, another week planning
a pretend trip, participating in a game, discussing food and culture, solving a group
challenge or navigating a real-life situation. The activity creates a reason to
communicate, so the vocabulary and language you encounter have an immediate purpose.
Every session is immersive and interactive. Our immersion specialists use the target
language as much as possible, helping you understand through context, gestures,
demonstrations, repetition, objects and conversation rather than constantly translating
everything into English. You don't need to understand every word. Learning to become
comfortable with not understanding everything is an important part of becoming fluent.
All levels are welcome
You do not need to already speak the language to participate. Beginners can communicate
using individual words, familiar expressions, gestures and simple sentences, while more
experienced speakers can work with richer vocabulary, longer conversations and more
complex ideas. Our immersion specialists adapt the experience to the people in the room,
allowing participants at different levels to learn and communicate together.
Many language learners reach a point where they understand far more than they can
comfortably say. They recognize vocabulary, understand conversations and may even know
exactly what they want to say, but actually speaking feels completely different. Verbalee
gives you something that is difficult to get from an app or textbook: consistent
opportunities to communicate with real people.
Make mistakes. That's how this works.
Nobody at Verbalee expects perfect grammar or a perfect accent. Mistakes are part of
learning another language. Our immersion specialists use natural modeling and gentle
correction without stopping every conversation to explain grammar. Communication comes
first. Confidence grows through practice, and accuracy develops along the way.
Over the course of your 12 weeks, you'll hear familiar words and expressions again and
again in different situations. You'll begin recognizing them without consciously
translating them. You'll start responding more naturally. Little by little, the language
becomes something you use rather than something you study.
Language is social
Language exists to connect people, which is why our Teen & Adult Sessions are social by
design. You'll interact with your immersion specialist as well as other participants
through conversations, partner activities, group challenges and shared experiences.
For teens and adults, learning another language shouldn't feel like going back to school.
It should feel like discovering that you can communicate with people you couldn't
communicate with before.
Whether you're learning for travel, work, family, personal enrichment or simply because
you've always wanted to speak another language, the goal is the same: to help you become
comfortable actually using it.
12 weeks. One language. A completely different way to learn.
Verbalee Teen & Adult Sessions are offered in 12-week programs in Spanish, French and
English. Each week builds on the experiences and language you've encountered before,
while introducing new situations and opportunities to communicate.
You don't need to wait until you're fluent to start having conversations.
Conversations are how you get there.
